OCR: About the photographer ... Arthur Grace began his photographic career in 1972 as a staff photographer with United Press International in Brussels, Belgium. Over the past two decades, he has covered stories throughout the world as a contract photographer for TIME and as a staff photographer for NEWSWEEK. Among his assignments were: four Presidential political campaigns; White House coverage of the Carter, Reagan and Bush administrations; the 1983 America's Cup in Newport, Rhode Island: the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics; and extensive coverage from 1979-1983 of the tumultuous events in Poland. Since 1972, his photographs have been distributed through Sygma photo agency and published in major magazines worldwide including: LIFE, LOOK, Vogue, Sports Illustrated, Rolling Stone, Premiere, the New York Times Sunday Magazine, American Photographer, and Paris Match. The recipient of numerous photographic awards in both photojournalism and commercial photography, Grace is also the author of two critically acclaimed books, Choose Me: Portraits of a Presidential Race (1989) and Comedians (1991). His photographs have been exhibited throughout the U.S. and abroad, most recently in a one-man show of "Comedians," at the International Center of Photography (I.C.P.) in New York City. His work is in the permanent collection of the I.C.P. and the Corcoran Gallery of Art (Washington, D.C.). Currently, Grace is completing a new book project about dogs for Rizzoli's Universe Publishing Division to be published in Spring 1996. In addition, he shoots special still photographs for major motion pictures which have included "Schindler's List," "Mrs. Doubtfire," and "Nine Months."
